Description In Pernambuco, Myrcia is the largest genus of Myrtaceae with 28 species, followed by Eugenia with 25 species (Flora do Brasil 2020). The state is divided into four phytogeographic zones, predominantly Atlantic Forest and Caatinga. However, studies with representatives of Myrcia in Pernambuco are scarce and punctuaL. In this context, this work aims to carry out a synopsis of Myrcia for the state of Pernambuco. Methodological Information About 1000 specimens of the genus Myrcia were raised and analyzed for the state of Pernambuco deposited in the herbaria. Collections were also carried out in some municipalities of the state. Collections followed usual techniques in plant taxonomy (Mori et al. 1989), and the material was pressed, dehydrated and incorporated into the HESBRA collection.
